A Disturbing Trend
Friday, December 31, 2010 at 12:07PM I have found a disturbing trend in my traffic data. My traffic numbers are kind of low, but I haven't posted in a while, so that's understandable. I have found that 53% of my total traffic is Internet Explorer 6. The standard version that comes with XP and is extremely insecure. Well, I have to give them props for being able to deal with the ridiculously slow speed. If you are on Windows, then I highly recommend you upgrade to Windows 7. I'm not paid to say that. I am speaking from personal experience. I have tried XP, Vista, and 7; Windows 7 is by far the best OS for any computer built/bought in the last 6 years. The second reason this is a disturbing trend is that IE 6 means that you haven't updated your browser ever since you got the machine. I should note to the less technically inclined that IE 6 is not the only option out there. There are other great browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari. Personally, I use Mozilla Firefox because it is the fastest to load pages in my experience on my computer. I also really like the interface and customizability. However, everone's needs are different, so try and use them all to figure out which one is best for you.
